Butler Community Endowment Fund

The mission of the Butler Community Endowment Fund is to assist local charities working to improve the quality of life for our community. We hope that families will feel a sense of comfort knowing that their loved one’s memory is being honored by helping area residents who are in need.

Our family has always considered community involvement and benevolence as part of the mission of the funeral home and our organization has a long history of helping in the community. In June 2005, we took another step towards meeting this mission. The Butler Community Endowment Fund was created as a part of the Sangamon County Community Foundation. In addition to formalizing our gifting process, this fund helps ensure our vision of sharing will always be a part of the organization's operating structure. This fund doesn't necessarily replace contributions made to civic organizations and other groups that we currently assist. It does, however, give these groups an opportunity to request a grant through a more formal process.

The basic premise of our fund is that we will make a contribution in memory of each person we have ceremonies for as well as for each pet we assist at our Cremation Center. The donation will be made in the respective name on behalf of the family we are serving.

Families know there are few things, if any, more difficult than saying goodbye to someone they have loved. The memory of a loved one or a pet is a precious gift that can and should be shared.

Our endowment is a part of the Sangamon County Community Foundation (SCCF). SCCF is one of over 650 community foundations around the country and is part of the fastest growing segment of philanthropy in the U.S. Although they vary slightly in final form, all community foundations share a common purpose: to serve as bridges between donors in the community and the institutions whose collective mission is to improve the quality of life for everyone.
