Advance Planning Specialist/Family Service Director

An Advance Planning Specialist/Family Service Director (APS/FSD) assists individuals and families in their important funeral/memorial planning.

  • As an APS/FSD you will meet with individuals and families for a planning meeting, and assist in the advance planning process, and educate them about all of their options for funeral and memorial events, as well as options for preparing financially for their funeral plan. Butler offers a specialized life insurance policy designed for funerals that provide the consumer with the ability to secure today’s prices for the arrangement plans, and receive coverage for the full cost of the funeral/memorial while making payments. Each time you assist an individual with completing and securing funding for their plans, you positively impact the family. When plans are made in advance, you help ease the responsibility of the family to make all of the arrangements at the time of death. In many cases, people who plan in advance want to give their loved ones a planned guideline, therefore enabling them to spend time on the details of the services and the special touches they would not have time for otherwise. That is a very important part of their grief-work. This will help make the funeral experience more valuable and can play an integral part in healing. Planning ahead can enhance the meaning of the funeral. Advance Planning Specialists have a huge responsibility to educate consumers on the value of funerals. Our actions today can have a lasting effect on the future.
